No More Place for Arrogant Powers in Muslim Lands: IRGC General

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Hossein Salami pointed to Muslims’ growing anger at colonialist regimes, saying Islamic nations have awoken and begun to resist hegemonic powers.

Arrogant powers can hardly breathe in Muslim territories today, the senior commander said at a cultural ceremony in the central city of Khomeinishahr on Saturday.

The Islamic countries that once used to lay red carpets for Western officials have now awoken, the general explained, in reference to the Islamic Awakening movement in the region.

He touched on Yemen’s fight against the Al Saud regime and the Bahraini nation’s uprising, saying, “These lands are (no longer) a safe haven for the arrogance.”

He further hailed Iran as the “world’s safest country” in the face of threats and sanctions, stressing, “We have no fear of confronting the enemy at any level.”

Last week, Secretary-General of the World Assembly of Islamic Awakening Ali Akbar Velayati described the current encounter between the axis of resistance and the US and its allies as a clear manifestation of existence of the Islamic Awakening movement.

It came against a backdrop of the Western notion that the Islamic Awakening movement has been on the wane following the escalation of conflicts in the Middle East.
