Website of Afghanistan’s National Security Council Hacked

KABUL (Tasnim) – A group of hackers has hacked the official website of Afghanistan's National Security Council (NSC).

According to Tasnim dispatches, the hackers, dubbed Hazaristan Cyber Army, hacked and defaced the website of Afghanistan’s NSC on Friday.

They left a deface page along with photos of four senior Afghan officials and a brief message on the hacked website.

“We want justice and equality for all ethnic groups of Afghanistan. Security is either only deception or illusion… we will never give up (our fight) until justice is served,” part of the message read.

National Security Advisor Mohammad Hanif Atmar, Mohammad Masoom Stanikzai, the acting Intelligence, National Directorate of Security (NDS) Chief, General Gul Nabi Ahmadzai, the commander of Kabul Garrison, and Kabul Police Chief Abdul Rahman Rahimi were the figures whose photos were uploaded on the website along with the Daesh (ISIL or ISIS) logo.

The hackers condemned the four Afghan officials for creating and supporting Daesh and killing hundreds of civilians in the crisis-hit country.

Security in Afghanistan has deteriorated since the United States, under Republican George W. Bush’s presidency, and its allies invaded Afghanistan on October 7, 2001 as part of Washington’s so-called war on terror.
