What We Know about Jund al-Aqsa Terrorist Group (+Video)
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The so-called Jund al-Aqsa terrorist group, which is linked to Daesh (ISIL and ISIS) and Jabhat Fateh al-Sham, is one of numerous foreign-backed terrorist groups operating across Syria.
Jund al-Aqsa, which was established on September 1, 2013, is active in Aleppo, Idlib and northern countryside of Hamah.
Its founder, Abu al-Aziz al-Qatari, was killed in Idlib by the Syrian army. The next commander of the extremist group was Abu Musab. He was killed in Saraqib.
His successor, Abdullah al-Tofeil from Saudi Arabia, was also killed in an Idlib countryside. Abu Dhar al-Najdi, a Saudi national is now leading it.
Jund al-Aqsa and Jabhat Fateh al-Sham, another terrorist group operating in Syria, are believed to enjoy support from Saudi Arabia, a major opponent of the Syrian government.
In a bid to shed light on the nature of Takfiri extremist groups and how they have come into existence, the Tasnim New Agency plans to provide its readers with a number of informative video clips.
