Iranian President Congratulates Greece on National Day
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani congratulated the Greek people and government over the Southeastern European country’s Independence Day.
In a Saturday message to his Greek counterpart, Prokopis Pavlopoulos, President Rouhani felicitated the Greek Independence Day and expressed the hope that bilateral relations between the two countries would expand in all areas.
“Our countries have significant economic potential that could be tapped to contribute to the economic prosperity (of both countries) and serve mutual interests,” he said.
He further wished health and success for the Greek president and progress and prosperity for the people of the European country.
Greek Independence Day, observed on March 25, celebrates the country gaining independence from the Ottoman Empire after 400 years of rule.
The national holiday is marked by great parades, patriotic speeches, and demonstrations by Greek armed forces.
