Hezbollah Chief Congratulates President Rouhani on Election Win
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Secretary General of the Lebanese Hezbollah Resistance Movement Seyed Hassan Nasrallah congratulated incumbent Iranian president Hassan Rouhani on his reelection in the country’s presidential race.
In a message on Saturday, Nasrallah extended his congratulation to Rouhani, stressing that the huge turnout in the polls once again showed the grandeur and sovereignty of the Islamic Establishment and the Iranian nation.
The message came after Rouhani won a second term in Friday’s presidential election by securing an absolute majority of the votes.
The Hezbollah chief added that Iranian people’s massive participation in the event also demonstrated how much they can benefit from freedom and democracy in a region full of dictator regimes.
Rouhani garnered 23,549,616 votes from a total of 41,220,131 ballots that were cast in the presidential election on Friday. The runner-up, Ebrahim Raisi, secured 38.5% of the votes with 15,786,449 ballots.
