Islamic Solidarity Games: Iran Volleyball Team Wins Gold Medal
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran U-20 volleyball team won the title of the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku on Sunday.
Behrouz Ataei’s boys defeated host Azerbaijan in straight sets (25-16, 29-27, 25-18) at the Crystal Hall.
Rasoul Aghchehli scored a match- high 22 points for Iran.
Rasoul Ibragimov and Bartlomiej Lipinski scored 11 points apiece for Azerbaijan.
More than 3,000 athletes from 54 countries of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation are competing in 21 sports at the Games.
The Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games started May 8 and will last until May 22 in Azerbaijan’s capital.
