Islamic Solidarity Games: Iranian Para Athletes Take Gold, Silver Medals
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Para athletes Saman Pakbaz and Masoud Heydari from Iran claimed gold and silver medals in the men's shot put F12 in the Islamic Solidarity Games on Saturday.
Pakbaz won the gold medal with a throw of 15.69 meters.
Silver medal went to Heydari who threw 15 meters.
Uzbekistan’s para athlete claimed the bronze medal.
More than 3,000 athletes from 54 countries of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation are competing in 21 sports at the Games.
The Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games started May 8 and will last until May 22 in Azerbaijan’s capital.
