Liberation of Quds Possible Only through Resistance: IRGC
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) highlighted the importance of the forthcoming International Quds Day, saying the Palestinian cause would be realized only through resistance and Muslim nations’ all-out support for the Palestinian Intifada (uprising).
“In fact, the realization of the cause to liberate the holy Quds and save the Palestinian people passes only through the path of resistance and the Islamic Ummah’s (community’s) all-out support for the Intifada,” the IRGC said in a statement on Thursday ahead of the International Quds Day.
The statement also stressed the necessity for all Palestinian groups to boost their unity in the fight against the “fake Zionist regime” of Israel.
It further said that the IRGC’s defense capabilities can be morale boosting for the Intifada and resistance fighters.
The statement further called on the Iranian people from all walks of life to participate in the nationwide rallies due to be held on Friday to mark the International Quds Day.
The International Quds Day is an annual worldwide event during which demonstrators express their solidarity with the Palestinian people and opposition to the occupation of the Palestinian territories by the Zionist regime of Israel.
The day is seen as the legacy of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini, who officially declared the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as International Quds Day back in 1979.
