Iran Men’s Futsal Team Champion of AIMAG
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran clinched its fifth consecutive Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games men's futsal gold, beating Uzbekistan 7-1 in the final on Tuesday.
Mahdi Javid and Ali Asghar Hassanzadeh were the stars of the show, scoring six goals between them with Hamid Ahmadi adding the other as Uzbekistan stayed docile.
Javid topped the goalscoring charts with 15 goals in the tournament.
Uzbekistan got a consolation from Davron Choriev’s strike in the 29th minute.
Earlier in the day, Japan defeated Afghanistan 3-1 in the bronze medal match.
Iran’s women’s futsal team claimed the bronze medal after defeating China 5-1 on Monday.
