Yemen’s Ansarullah Spokesman Meets Iran's FM Senior Adviser
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The visiting spokesman of the Yemeni Houthi Ansarullah Movement, Mohammad Abdulsalam, met with the Iranian foreign minister senior adviser for political affair Hossein Jaberi Ansari.
At the meeting held in the Iranian capital, Tehran on Monday, Abdulsalam and his accompanying delegation exchanged views with the Iranian side on the political ways to resolve the Yemen crisis in order to help Yemenis by ending the brutal war on the Arab country.
Abdulsalam had a meeting with Zarif on Saturday and the two sides held talks on the latest developments in the Arabian Peninsula country and the ongoing human tragedy caused by the Saudi-led war.
At the meeting, Zarif pointed to Iran’s four-point peace plan for Yemen and stressed the need for an immediate stop to the war and bombing of the country by the Saudi-led coalition.
He further said given the human catastrophe in Yemen that was caused by the relentless airstrikes of the coalition against the people of the country, there is a necessity for the international community to send humanitarian assistance to Yemen immediately.
Abdulsalam briefed the Iranian top diplomat about the current situation and the ongoing human tragedy in Yemen.
Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition for nearly three years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.
Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
Over 14,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
