Iran’s Lotfi, Abdollahi Win Awards at World Taekwondo Junior Championships

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian taekwondo athlete Hossein Lotfi and head coach Vahid Abdollahi won two prestigious awards at the World Taekwondo Junior Championships

Lotfi, winner of the gold medal in the junior male under-45kg category, was named as the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP).

South Korea’s Mireu Kang, winner of the gold medal in the under 42kg category, also was named as MVP in the female divisions.

Abdollahi won ‘Best Male Coach’ while Andrey Ananchenko of Russia was named ‘Best Female Coach’.

Under guidance of Abdollahi, Iran finished top of male medal table, winning seven gold medals and two bronzes in Tunisia.
