Heads of Iran’s Branches of Power Hold Coordination Meeting

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, and Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani held a meeting on Sunday to coordinate the policies of the country’s three branches of power and figure out how to address problems.

Speaking at a joint press conference after the 3-hour-long meeting of the heads of country’s executive, legislative and judicial systems, Rouhani said various issues were mooted in the gathering, including ways to fulfill public demands and tackle problems in diverse fields.

The parliament speaker, for his part, hailed the decision to convene a meeting of all top officials to discuss critical issues.

Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Amoli Larijani also took the podium to highlight the rapport and unity among the three branches of power in addressing the country’s woes.

The top judge also referred to economic crunches as the major problem that Iran is facing, expressing confidence that cooperation would help the country overcome all challenges.

In comments in a meeting with cabinet members, parliamentary board members, and high-ranking judicial officials in April 2016, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei stressed the need for unity and solidarity among the country’s officials in implementing the policies, and urged the administration to cooperate with all Iranian bodies and support domestic production in a bid to realize the objectives of Resistance Economy.

The Leader also pointed to the significance of monitoring the performance of different sectors, calling on the government to encourage those who move in line with the policies of Resistance Economy and prevent moves by those who are against the plans.

“I would seriously support any action taken by the administration, the parliament, and the judiciary in line with people’s interests and aimed at resolving people’s problems,” Ayatollah Khamenei added.
