Leader Urges Iranian Officials to Rely on Domestic Potentials
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Wednesday referred to the United States and some other Western countries as unreliable sides, and called on Iranian authorities to rely not on the West but on domestic capacities and capabilities.
The US, and some other Western countries, cannot be trusted, the Leader said, stressing that the stances and moves of US officials confirm this.
“Therefore, we should rely on our own capabilities,” Ayatollah Khamenei said, reiterating that the abundant local capacities and capabilities should be tapped into in the implementation of the Resistance Economy policies.
The Leader made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian cabinet members, parliamentary board members, and high-ranking judicial officials in Tehran.
Imam Khamenei further highlighted the need for unity and solidarity among the country’s officials in implementing the policies, and urged the administration to cooperate with all Iranian bodies and support domestic production in a bid to realize the objectives of Resistance Economy.
The Leader also pointed to the significance of monitoring the performance of different sectors, calling on the government to encourage those who move in line with the policies of Resistance Economy and prevent moves by those who are against the plans.
“I would seriously support any action taken by the administration, the parliament, and the judiciary in line with people’s interests and aimed at resolving people’s problems,” Ayatollah Khamenei further said.
However, the Leader added, it is important that the measures taken by all these bodies should be useful and necessary for the country’s national interests.
Back on March 20, the Leader named the new Iranian calendar year as “Year of Resistance Economy: Action and Implementation”.
“The economy of resistance, action and implementation- this is a straight and enlightened path and the road towards what we need,” Ayatollah Khamenei said in his message on the occasion of the New Persian Year.
“If we want to resolve the problem of recession, domestic production and unemployment and if we want to manage the issue of inflation, the cure for all these things lie in the framework of economic resistance and the economy of resistance,” the Leader added.
“The economy of resistance includes all these problems. With the economy of resistance, we can fight against unemployment, we can fight against recession, we can manage inflation, we can stand up against the enemy’s threats and we can create and benefit from many opportunities for the country. The condition is that effort is made on the path of the economy of resistance,” Imam Khamenei noted at the time.
Later on March 22, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to implementing the “Resistance Economy” plan, the initiative announced by the Leader in 2014.
The administration will make every effort to carry out the policies of Resistance Economy, as emphasized by the Leader, President Rouhani told IRIB during a visit to the southern island of Kish.
