Iran Advances to AFC Women's Futsal Championship Quarters
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran humiliated Uzbekistan in the AFC Women's Futsal Championship 2018 on Monday.
Team Melli beat Uzbekistan 9-2 in Group D at the Indoor Stadium Huamark in Bangkok, Thailand.
Iran had already defeated Turkmenistan 14-0 in its opening match.
Fatemeh Etedadi scored a hat-trick while Fereshteh Karimi and Sara Shirbeigi each scored twice.
Fereshteh Khosravi and Fatemeh Arjangi each scored one goal.
The Iranian team will play China on Wednesday in the competition’s quarter-final.
Iranian women's futsal team claimed the title of the first edition, which was held in Malaysia in 2015.
The second edition is being held in Thailand from May 3 to 12.
