Yemen Fires Homegrown Missile at Saudi Mercenaries in Taiz, Jawf
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The forces of the Yemeni army and Popular Committees targeted the positions of Saudi mercenaries in the southwestern province of Taiz with a domestically made ballistic missile dubbed “Zelzal-1”, sources said on Friday.
The Yemeni forces hit a gathering of the Saudi mercenaries in Alwah village and Rosi hill in Dhabab district in Taiz and inflicted heavy casualties on them, Saba news agency reported.
In a separate development, they targeted the mercenaries’ positions in Khub-washaaf district of Jawf province with a Zelzal-2 missile, the report added.
The missile hit its target accurately and claimed the lives of dozens of the militants.
The attacks against the Saudi forces came in retaliation for the continued massacre of civilians and destruction of Yemen’s infrastructure by the coalition led by the Riyadh regime.
Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition for more than three years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.
Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
