Iran Thrashes France at IBSA Blind Football World C’ships


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran eased past France at the 2018 International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) Blind Football World Championships on Sunday.

The 2016 Rip Paralympic silver medalist defeated France 7-0.

Iran started the competition with a 1-0 loss to Argentina on Saturday.

Team Melli will play Colombia in Group B on Tuesday.

The 2018 IBSA Blind Football World Championships features 16 of the world’s best teams. As well as the title on offer, the competition is also an important step on the road to the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.

Group stages run until June 12. The quarterfinals and playoffs begin on June 13, with the final taking place on June 17.

The 2018 International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) Blind Football World Championships is underway in Madrid, Spain, on June 7-17.
