Army Kills 38 Saudi-Backed Mercenaries across Yemen
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Yemeni troops and fighters from popular committees stepped up their attacks against Saudi-backed militants in fronts across the Arab country, claiming the lives of at least 38 mercenaries.
They carried out an operation against Saudi-sponsored militants on Saturday in the area of Waqz, al-Masloob district, in the Arab country’s northern province of Jawf, killing 8 militants there, Saba news agency reported.
In Taiz province, artillery shelling targeted fortifications and gatherings of mercenaries in Salah and in al-Jahmaliah districts, killing and inuring a dozen of them.
Ten militants were also killed in Marib, Lahj and Bayda after Yemeni forces pounded their positions in the provinces.
The army troops also killed 10 militants in the Saudi regions of Najran and Jizan near Alib mountains and al-Dood mount, respectively.
The attacks came in retaliation for the continued massacre of civilians and destruction of Yemen’s infrastructure by the coalition led by the Riyadh regime.
Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition for more than three years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.
Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
Over 14,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
