TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Cancer patients in Yemen are facing with difficulties to access treatment as the health care system faces funding and medicine shortages due to the ongoing Saudi blockades on the country.
The World Health Organization says there are around 35,000 people suffering from cancer in Yemen and that some 11,000 cases are diagnosed each year.
Cancer patients in the Yemen capital of Sanaa are suffering the most from war and the lack of resources to support their treatment.
The National Oncology Centre in Sanaa admits around 600 new cancer patients each month, but three years of war and the funding has dwindled with patients are struggling to receive proper care.
