Scores of Saudi-Backed Militants Killed in Yemen’s Hudaydah
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Yemen’s Houthi fighters targeted the positions of Saudi-backed militants and UAE forces in the western province of Hudaydah, killing and injuring dozens of them.
Speaking to Saba news agency on condition of anonymity on Monday, a military official said the area of al-Gabluah, a hotbed of Saudi-sponsored militants on the western coast front, was heavily pounded by Ansarullah forces.
The raids inflicted major losses on the Saudi-paid mercenaries, leaving dozens of them dead and injured.
Saudi Arabia and the UAE launched an offensive on June 13 to capture Hudaydah, the main entry point for food in a country teetering on the brink of famine.
The operation, however, came into an immediate halt in the face of stiff resistance by Houthi fighters and residents of the port city, which forced the kingdom to wind down the push.
