Yemenis Stage Rallies against Saudi-Led Aggression

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – People in Yemen’s southwestern province of Ibb held massive rallies to voice their outrage over continued war crimes committed by the Saudi-led coalition in the Arabian Peninsula country.

The residents of Ba'dan District in Ibb Province staged a protest to condemn the crimes of the Saudi-UAE-US alliance and the blockade of Yemen, local reports said late on Friday.

The participants also slammed international circles’ silence on the Saudi atrocities and the economic war led by Al Saud and Al Nahyan ruling families in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

In another rally held in Jibla in the same province, the demonstrators decried the United Nations’ inaction in the face of the aggressors and their policy to prevent food supplies to Yemenis.

The rallies came as Yemen’s defenseless people remain the target of massive attacks by the coalition for more than three years.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

The Yemeni Ministry of Human Rights announced in a statement on March 25 that the war had left 600,000 civilians dead and injured until then. The war and the accompanying blockade have also caused famine across Yemen.
