Hundreds Hold Protest in Virginia against US Military Actions Overseas (+Video)
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Hundreds of people took part in a pacifist march on the Pentagon in Virginia on Sunday to protest against US military actions overseas.
The march was organized by a coalition of activists from Answer Coalition, Code Pink, Veterans for Peace, and others.
According to Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin, their antiwar march was “a bipartisan issue, both the Democrats and the Republicans get money from the weapons manufacturers, from the lobbyists, from those who profit from war,” and explained that politicians, including US President Donald Trump, were hesitant to cut ties with the Saudis due to income from arms sales.
“We say that's ridiculous, we don't want an economy that is based on killing people,” Benjamin added.
