Ilie Stan Sacked as Iran’s Foolad Coach
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Romanian coach Ilie Stan was sacked by Foolad football club following poor results in Iran Professional League (IPL).
The 51-year-old coach had replaced Sirous Pourmousavi in the Ahvaz-based football team but failed to meet expectations.
Ex-defender of Foolad Aziz Farisat has been appointed as the team’s interim coach.
Foolad, who has won IPL titles twice, sits 13th in Iran’s 16-team league.
Foolad is scheduled to face Paykan on Friday.
