Persepolis Returns to Third Place: IPL
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Persepolis football team defeated Zob Ahan to return to the third place in the Iran Professional League (IPL) on Tuesday.
In the match, held in front of more than 20,000 spectators in Tehran, Persepolis defender Shoja Khalilzadeh found the back of the net with a header in the 15th minute.
Zob Ahan played better in the second half but failed to create goal opportunities.
The visiting team was reduced to 10-man in the 87th minute after Milad Fakhreddini received his second yellow card.
Persepolis returned to IPL third place with 27 points, one point ahead of Tractor Sazi with one game in hand.
Sepahan and Padideh are leading the table with 29 points.
