Senior General: Iranian Forces Ready to Combat Any Threat

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A top Iranian military commander said the country’s Armed Forces are fully mobilized and prepared to counter any hostile threat.

Speaking on the sidelines of a massive military exercise, launched by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force in southern Iran, Commander of the Khatam al-Anbia Headquarters Major General Gholam Ali Rashid said the Iranian Armed Forces employ all tools of power in their possession to maintain intelligence dominance over the enemies and monitor the hostile moves.

The Iranian forces monitor and evaluate the threats constantly, and enjoy the necessary combat preparedness to exercise power against any threat, he added.

“The power of the Islamic Republic’s Armed Forces has been organized and prepared within the framework of the country’s goals and national interests for countering any threat,” the general noted.

Major General Rashid then highlighted Iran’s push to establish brotherly and cordial ties with the neighbors, but warned that any country preparing the ground for the arrogant powers’ interference in the region will have to pay the highest price for its unfriendly and provocative measures.

His comments came against the backdrop of a large-scale military exercise by the IRGC Ground Force in the Persian Gulf.

On Friday, the US Navy deployed its John C. Stennis aircraft carrier to the Persian Gulf.

The Associated Press said in a report that the IRGC forces have shadowed the Stennis and its strike group, have launched rockets away from it, and have flown a drone nearby.
