Commander Warns of Enemy’s Hybrid War against Iran
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Head of the Iranian Army's Strategic Studies Center Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan highlighted the importance of the country’s preparedness to counter foreign threats and said the enemy has waged “a hybrid political-economic-cultural war” on the Islamic Republic.
“With the preparedness and establishment of defense infrastructure, the damages caused by war can be reduced,” Brigadier General Pourdastan said in a speech in the central city of Qom on Thursday evening.
“The preparedness for war is directly related with the increase of self-confidence and the promotion of psychological security,” he added.
“The fact is that today, the enemy has waged a hybrid political-economic-cultural war (on Iran),” the commander noted.
“The enemy’s goal behind its economic war is to create a sense of disappointment with the future of the Establishment,” he went on to say.
The commander further said the most important reason for holding the Warsaw conference was to examine Iran's situation after the overthrow of its current government but the massive presence of Iranians in the nationwide marches marking the 40th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution foiled the enemy plots.
Earlier last month, the United States organized an anti-Iran summit in the polish capital of Warsaw in a bid to heap pressure on the Islamic Republic globally.
In relevant remarks in December 2018, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei dismissed comments by US officials that the Islamic Republic would not see its 40th anniversary, saying the Iranian nation will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the victory of the Revolution this year more magnificently than before.
Pointing to the uncovered plots that Americans have hatched over the past two years to harm Iran, such as imposing sanctions and assisting Iran’s foes, the Leader also noted that the US objective was to create bipolarity and division in Iran through sanctions and anti-security measures.
The Iranian nation toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime on February 11, 1979, ending the 2,500 years of monarchy in the country.
