Jailed Nawaz Sharif Said to Be Very Sick
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Pakistan Peoples’ Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif should be given the best medical care as he was very sick and needed urgent treatment.
The PPP chairman was talking to the media after meeting the elder Sharif, who is suffering from cardiac ailment, at Kot Lakhpat jail to inquire about his health.
The meeting continued for an hour between the two leaders.
The PPP delegation included Qamar Zaman Kaira, Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokar, Jameel Soomro and Hassan Murtaza, the News International reported.
Sharif is serving a second jail term. His first prison term, which was ten years, was related to his family property in London. He was released in September after another court suspended his sentence pending an appeal hearing, but was again sentenced to seven years in prison for corruption in a second case.
