Army Thwarts Attack by Terrorists in Northern Syria
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Syrian army forces killed scores of terrorists near Mahardeh 30 km to the northwest Hama, after they attacked a military position in the area.
A military source told state news agency SANA that army forces on Tuesday afternoon thwarted a terrorist group’s attack on one of its military points in Mahardeh countryside, killing a number of the terrorists.
Two of them were suicide bombers who blew themselves up near the military position.
The source added that an army soldier was also killed and four others were injured.
The Syrian army on Saturday confronted another attack by terrorists in northern Hama countryside of the province in Al Qalbiyah region and its counterattack left dozens of the militant killed.
Militant groups continue violating a ceasefire agreement with the government in Hama and Idlib provinces.
According to a bulletin by the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for the Syrian Reconciliation on Monday, militant groups committed ceasefire violations in 16 locations in Syria's Idlib de-escalation zone over just 24 hours.
