Syrian Army Repels Militants’ Attack in Northern Hama
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Syrian military forces repelled a terrorist attack targeting their positions in the northern countryside of Hama province, a military source said.
Terrorist groups continued breaching the de-escalation zone agreement in Idlib through repeating attempts to attack military posts and safe villages in Hama northern countryside.
Meanwhile the army units operating in Hama province retaliated their attacks and killed or injured several of the terrorists in the process, the source told SANA.
Reports from Hama suggest that the army fired a barrage of missiles on positions of Jabhat al-Nusra and affiliated groups on the outskirts of al-Tah town and Khan Sheikhoun in Idleb southern countryside in retaliation to their attempts to attack the liberated areas.
The report added that a number of terrorists’ positions and equipment were destroyed and scores of them were killed or injured.
In Hama northern countryside, army units tracked the movements of terrorist groups who tried to infiltrate from the outskirts of Mourek town towards military posts and targeted them making them flee.
Also, army units in al-Ghab Plain destroyed positions of terrorists in al-Karkat and al-Madik citadel in response to their repeated violations and attacks on military points and safe villages in Hama northern countryside.
Idlib and some surrounding areas are the last major bastions of Takfiri terrorists and anti-government militants in Syria, where the Syrian government has in recent months retaken much of the territory it had lost since the conflict erupted in the country in 2011.
