Terrorist Attack Kills 3 IRGC Forces in Iran’s Border Region
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A team of terrorists launched an attack on the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) forces in Iran’s northwestern province of West Azarbaijan, killing three servicemen.
A vehicle carrying the forces of Hamzeh Sayyid al-Shohada Base of the IRGC Ground Force came under attack by the terrorists affiliated with the “global arrogance” at the entrance of Piranshahr on Tuesday evening, the IRGC said in a statement.
The forces were on a mission when the attack happened, it said, adding that three IRGC members were martyred and another one was injured.
Intelligence measures and a manhunt are in progress to capture the terrorists, the statement said.
In July 2018, anti-revolutionary terrorists attacked a border post of the Hamzeh Seyed al-Shohada Base in the western province of Kurdistan, killing 11 forces of the base.
The IRGC is tasked with protecting the country’s northwestern and southeastern borders.
