Iran, China Discuss US Unilateralism

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Ranking diplomats from Iran and China discussed a range of issues, including international developments and the US unilateral policies and violation of the international law.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Song Tao, head of the International Liaison Department of the Communist Party of China, met in Tehran on Tuesday.

In the gathering, Zarif and Song highlighted the friendly ties between Iran and China in various fields, pointing to the meetings that the presidents of the two countries have held in recent years.

They also discussed major bilateral, regional and international issues and, considering the “strategic view” of the international developments that the two countries hold in common, exchanged views about “the US unilateral policy of violating the international law and regulations and Washington’s attempts to impose its hegemony on the world,” Iran’s Foreign Ministry said.

Iran and China have close diplomatic, economic, trade and energy ties, and in recent years have taken steps to further develop their relations in various fields.
