Iran Wins Two More Golds at U-23 Senior World C’ships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian freestyle wrestlers Kamran Ghasempour and Amir Hossein Zare claimed two gold medals at the U-23 Senior World Championships on Wednesday.
Ghasempour defeated Gadzhimurad Magomedsaidov from Azerbaijan 9-2 in the final of the 86kg.
Zare beat Russian Vitali Goloev 10-0 in the 125kg final bout.
Iran’s Mohammad Nokhodi lost to Razambek Zhamalov from Russia 8-1 in the final match of the 74kg.
Hossein Shahbazi of Iran also won a bronze medal after defeating Shamil Zubariov from Azerbaijan 5-1 at the 92kg.
On the first day of the competition, Mojtaba Goleij and Alireza Sarlak had won a gold and a bronze medal, respectively.
Iran finished second with 139 points, six points behind champion Russia.
Azerbaijan came third with 111 points.
The competition was held in Budapest, Hungary.
