Iran President Congratulates Muslims on Prophet’s Birth Anniversary

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani offered his congratulations to the heads of state of Islamic countries on the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

In separate messages to Muslim countries’ heads of state on Thursday, Rouhani described Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as “the messenger of peace and a blessing for all mankind” and said Muslims are honored to be his followers.

The president further expressed hope that Muslims would bring security, justice, and peace to the world, especially to Islamic countries, by following the Prophet’s teachings.

He also wished health and success for the heads of state and prosperity and happiness for their nations.

The 17th day of the month of Rabi al-Awwal in the lunar Hijri calendar marks the birth anniversaries of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Imam Jafar Sadiq (AS), the sixth Shiite Imam. This year it falls on Friday, November 15.
