Nasir Shalal to Receive 2012 Olympic Gold after Torokhtiy Stripped
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Navab Nasir Shalal from Iran will receive a gold medal after Ukrainian weightlifter Oleksiy Torokhtiy was notified that he had failed a drug test from the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
Torokhtiy has now been handed a sanction regarding this failed test.
Torokhtiy is a Ukrainian weightlifter who competed in the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games.
He won a gold medal in the men's 105-kilogram category in London and Nasir Shalal earned a silver.
Re-analysis of Torokhtiy’s samples from London 2012 resulted in a positive test for the prohibited substances Dehydrochlormethyltestosterone.
