American Wrestler Taylor Hopes for Speedy Recovery for Hassan Yazdani
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – American wrestler David Taylor has wished a complete and fast recovery to Iranian wrestler Hassan Yazdani.
Yazdani underwent successful surgery on his torn meniscus on Monday in Tehran’s Arman Hospital.
“Wishing you a smooth and quick recovery. Great competitors are what make this sport and competitions so special. If all goes well, I am looking forward to seeing you in Tokyo,” Taylor wrote on his Instagram account.
Yazdani says he has had a successful surgery.
“It was a successful surgery. I am in a good situation now. I’ll start training on the mat in two months. I am in good spirits now. Let’s see what happens in future.”
Yazdani became Olympic champion in the 74kg category at the 2016 Summer Olympics after defeating Russian wrestler Aniuar Geduev in the final.
The following year he became World Champion at the 2017 World Wrestling Championships in the 86 kg category.
