Sepahan Suffers First Defeat against Sanat Naft: IPL
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Sanat Naft football team defeated Sepahan 4-2 in the Iran Professional League (IPL) in Abadan on Saturday.
It was the Isfahan-based team’s first defeat in the current season.
Issa Alekasir opened the scoring for the host in the seventh minute.
Sepahan striker Sajad Shahbazzadeh equalized the match in the 28th minute and Mohammad Reza Hosseini extended Sepahan’s lead in the 41st minute.
Sanat Naft defender Mohammad Ghoreishi found the back of the net with a header in the 52nd minute.
Mohammad Ahleshakheh put the host in the lead in the 70th minute and Taleb Reykani scored Sanat Naft’s fourth goal in the 82nd minute.
Sanat Naft moved up to fourth place, four points adrift of leader Persepolis.
Tractor also defeated Paykan 3-2 in Tehran and leapfrogged Esteghlal into third place with 30 points.
Sepahan is second with 31 points.
