Countries’ Health Security Interrelated: Iranian Embassy
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Embassy in Sweden highlighted the importance of global efforts to fight against the new coronavirus known as COVID-19 and said the health security of all countries in the world is interrelated.
In a statement on Saturday, the embassy said the medical security and well-being of all countries are interdependent, stressing the need for collective cooperation and international determination to counter the virus.
The Iranian mission further said that it is well-prepared for coordination to ship medical and treatment equipment provided by the Swedish individuals, companies, government and Iranian expatriates to Iran in a bid to combat the coronavirus epidemic.
It came as Iranian health officials said on Saturday that so far, the number of people with coronavirus disease has reached 593, of whom 43 people have lost their lives.
The health authorities also said that over the past days, 123 of the patients have recovered from the disease.
Medical staff in 20 provinces of Iran have been working tirelessly over the past week to contain the novel coronavirus that has originated from China.
