Coronavirus Updates in Iran: 2,134 Patients Treated
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The death toll from the COVID-19 outbreak in Iran has reached 49 only in the past 24 hours, the Health Ministry announced Sunday, saying at least 2,134 patients have recovered from the respiratory disease.
Health Ministry Spokesman Kianoosh Jahanpoor announced on Sunday that 49 deaths from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours raised the death toll in Iran to 194.
He also noted that the total number of the coronavirus cases in the country stands at 6,566 after 743 new cases of infection were reported since yesterday.
Jahanpoor said at least 2,134 patients have recovered from the novel coronavirus.
Health authorities have strongly recommended that people refrain from travelling.
The novel coronavirus originating from China’s Wuhan has killed over 3,500 people worldwide, and infected over 105,000, the majority in mainland China.
