UNICEF Sends Iran New Shipment of Aid for COVID-19 Battle

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) dispatched the third consignment of supplies to Iran to help the country in the fight against the coronavirus.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry said on Monday that UNICEF has shipped the third consignment of medicine and supplies to support Iranian children against the coronavirus epidemic.

The humanitarian aid provided by the UN agency includes medical supplies and instructions, in the Persian language, on how to protect children against the virus and provide a safe place for them at home amid the outbreak of the contagious disease.

Iran also received consignments of pharmaceutical and medical products from the United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan on Monday.

The total number of coronavirus cases in Iran rose to 14,991 on Monday, of whom nearly 5,000 have recovered and left the hospital.
