US Troops Deployed in NYC amid Coronavirus Crisis (+Video)
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – US military troops were deployed in New York City on Sunday to help the city manage the coronavirus pandemic.
US President Donald Trump first announced in a news conference Saturday that he was planning to send 1,000 military medical personnel to New York, which has become of the epicenter of the pandemic over the last few weeks.
The US Military's Northern Command said Sunday those deployments would occur over the next three days and would be made up of Air Force and Navy medical providers.
The state of New York currently has over 122,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 4,159 deaths, making it the most coronavirus affected state in the US.
