Over 14,000 Mask Production Workshops Launched by IRGC across Iran: Commander
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has set up over 14,000 workshops across the country to produce face masks amid the coronavirus pandemic, a ranking commander said.
Over 14,000 workshops are manufacturing standard face masks, including N-95 masks, for health workers and ordinary people to help the country in its nationwide battle against the coronavirus, IRGC Deputy Commander for Health and Medical Education General Ahmad Abdollahi said on Thursday.
He added that the IRGC’s bio-defense bases have also managed to disinfect 313 million square meters of areas in crowded centers across the country, using modern equipment.
Iran has been among the countries hardest hit by the new coronavirus, which first showed up in China in late December 2019 before spreading to other parts of the world.
The disease has so far killed 4,110 people and infected over 66,220 others in Iran. Nearly 32,300 people have also recovered.
