Nearly 70,000 Coronavirus Patients Recover in Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Some 70,000 coronavirus positive cases have recovered from the infectious disease in Iran, the Health Ministry’s spokesman said.

Speaking at a daily press conference on Wednesday, Kianoosh Jahanpoor put the death toll from the coronavirus in Iran at 5,710, saying the disease has taken the lives of 60 patients over the past 24 hours.

He also noted that at least 69,657 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far and have been discharged from hospitals across the country.

The number of people tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Iran has risen to 90,481 following the detection of 1,153 new cases since Saturday noon, the spokesman added.

Among the patients undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 3,079 ones have critical health conditions because of more severe infection, Jahanpoor noted.

He went on to say that more than 421,000 coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 2,934,000 and the death toll has exceeded 203,000.
