Over 75,000 Patients Recover from COVID-19 in Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The number of coronavirus patients recovering and being released from the hospital in Iran has exceeded 75,100 as of Thursday, while the number of deaths has decreased compared to a day before.

In remarks at a daily press conference on Thursday, Health Ministry Spokesman Kianoosh Jahanpoor said the number of people tested positive for COVID-19 across the country has risen to 94,640 following the detection of 983 new cases since Wednesday noon.

He also noted that 75,103 coronavirus patients have recovered from the disease so far and have been discharged from the hospital.

According to Jahanpoor, the coronavirus death toll in Iran now stands at 6,028 after 71 patients lost their lives during the past 24 hours, down from 80 fatalities a day earlier.

Among the coronavirus patients undergoing treatment in the hospital at present, 2,976 ones have critical health conditions because of more severe infection, he added, noting that more than 463,000 coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in the country so far.

More than 3,230,000 people have been infected with COVID-19 globally, and the death toll has exceeded 228,000.
