Coronavirus Updates: Over 78,000 Patients Recover in Iran
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The number of positive cases that have recovered from the coronavirus infection in Iran has surpassed 78,400, the Health Ministry’s spokesman announced Sunday.
Kianoosh Jahanpoor said at a press conference that 78,422 patients have recovered from COVID-19 infection so far and have been discharged from the hospital across the country.
The number of people tested positive for the virus in Iran has risen to 97,424 following the detection of 976 new cases since Saturday noon, he noted.
According to Jahanpoor, the coronavirus death toll in Iran now stands at 6,203 following the death of 47 patients over the past 24 hours.
Among the coronavirus patients undergoing treatment in the hospital at present, 2,690 ones have critical health conditions because of more severe infection, he said.
He also noted that more than 496,000 coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far.
More than 3,500,000 people have been infected with COVID-19 globally, and the death toll has exceeded 245,000.
