President: Iran Eager to Boost Ties with Sweden
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – In a message to the king of Sweden, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani expressed Tehran’s willingness to enhance bilateral and multilateral cooperation with Stockholm.
Rouhani on Saturday sent a message to Carl XVI Gustaf, the reigning king of Sweden, congratulating the Scandinavian country’s monarch and nation on the National Day of Sweden.
In his message, Rouhani pointed to the “delicate and critical conditions” caused by the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, expressing hope that cooperation and rapport among the Iranian and Swedish officials would contribute to the enhancement of world peace and stability and closer relations between Tehran and Stockholm at the bilateral and international levels.
Sweden celebrate its National Day on June 6 in honor of two historical events: Gustav Vasa being elected king (June 6, 1523) and the adoption of a new constitution (June 6, 1809).
