Coronavirus Updates in Iran: Number of Recoveries Close to 200k
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Nearly 200,000 coronavirus positive cases have recovered from the infectious disease in Iran, the Health Ministry’s spokeswoman said.
Speaking at a daily press conference on Saturday, Sima Sadat Lari said at least 198,949 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection in Iran so far.
She said the total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 in the country has risen to 237,878 following the detection of 2,449 new cases since Friday.
Of the new cases detected since yesterday, 1,148 patients have been admitted to the hospital, she added.
Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 3,136 coronavirus patients have critical health conditions because of more severe infection, Lari noted.
She further put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 11,408, saying the disease has taken the lives of 148 patients over the past 24 hours.
Lari also noted that more than 1,769,000 coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has exceeded 11.2 million, and the death toll has surpassed 529,000.
