Nearly 294,000 Patients Recover from Coronavirus in Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The number of coronavirus positive cases who have recovered from the viral disease in Iran is about to hit 294,000, the Health Ministry said.

Speaking at a daily press conference on Friday, Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari put the death toll from the coronavirus in the country at 19,331, saying the disease has taken the lives of 169 patients over the past 24 hours.

She also noted that at least 293,811 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran.

The number of people tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Iran has risen to 338,825 following the detection of 2,501 new cases since Thursday noon, the spokeswoman added.

Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 3,965 patients have critical health conditions, Lari noted.

She went on to say that more than 2,812,000 coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 21 million and the death toll has exceeded 757,000.
