Israeli Warplanes Launch Fresh Raids on Gaza
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israel warplanes on Sunday morning launched new airstrikes against the positions of the Palestinian resistance movement of Hamas in the besieged Gaza strip.
The attacks came shortly after the Israeli military claimed two rockets were fired into southern parts of occupied Palestine from the Gaza Strip late Saturday.
Security sources in Gaza said there were a number of strikes overnight, including in Khan Younes, Rafah and Beit Hanoun, without reporting any casualties.
Gaza has been under an Israeli siege since June 2007, which has caused a decline in living standards.
Israel has also launched three major wars against the enclave since 2008, killing thousands of Gazans each time and shattering the impoverished territory’s already poor infrastructure.
The crippling blockade has caused a decline in the standard of living as well as unprecedented levels of unemployment and unrelenting poverty in the Gaza Strip.
