IPL: Esteghlal Held by Sanat Naft
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Esteghlal football team was held to a 1-1 draw by Sanat Naft in Matchweek 5 of Iran Professional League (IPL) on Monday.
The Blues could have moved level on points with Gol Gohar but the team drew with the Abadan-based side in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.
Ahmad Mousavi gave the host the lead in the 50th minute and Mohammad Tayebi equalized the match in the 82nd minute.
IPL leader Gol Gohar lost to Paykan 2-1 in a home match, Tractor and Foolad played out a goalless draw in Tabriz, Saipa failed to beat Mes Rafsanjan in Tehran and Aluminum humiliated Machine Sazi 4-1 in Arak.
Gol Gohar sits top of the table with 10 points, followed by Persepolis who has eight points and one game in hands.
