Coronavirus in Iran: Hospital Admissions Down to 3-Digit Number
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Health Ministry said 833 coronavirus patients have been admitted to hospitals across Iran over the past 24 hours.
The Health Ministry’s spokeswoman said at a press conference on Sunday that 833 of the new coronavirus cases detected in the past 24 hours have been admitted to the hospital.
Sima Sadat Lari said the total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Iran has exceeded 1,108,000 following the detection of 7,451 new cases since yesterday.
At least 812,270 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran, the spokeswoman added.
She further put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 52,196, saying the disease has taken the lives of 247 patients over the past 24 hours.
Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 5,723 coronavirus patients have critical health conditions because of more severe infection, Lari noted.
The spokeswoman also said more than 6,704,000 coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 72 million and the death toll has exceeded 1.6 million.
