Mahmoud Fekri Sacked As Esteghlal Coach

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Mahmoud Fekri was sacked as Esteghlal coach on Tuesday following a poor run of results.

Fekri failed to meet expectations in the Tehran-based football team.

He had been appointed as Esteghlal coach in October but was forced to leave the club after 16 weeks.

Esteghlal sits third in the Iran Professional League, six points behind leader Persepolis.

Fekri played in Esteghlal for 13 years over two stints.
